Various pics

On this page I will upload some interesting images, not necessarilly connected to tuning ;-)

This is Aco's Yugo with 1600 engine swap - engine is pretty much STD 1600 Fiat N/a engine rebuilded by Marin (link to his project), although he is going to bolt 4 carbs very soon to increase breathing (engine breathing, not his, of course)

But car is very drivable and responsive right now with DMTR32 twin Weber carb - little video clip will be in Download section.

The rest of car - interior is stripped, Sparco bucket seat, stiffer shocks and car is lowered little too much for my taste - but that's Crazy Aco - you don't want to mess with that guy for sure, believe me ;-)

This is Prpa's legendary Yugo with 1300 Uno Turbo engine swap.I leave I.E. on purpose - this car has carb instead of std Uno's EFI system - hey !!!

I really don't understand why he did that , but he removed complete EFI and put R5 Gtturbo Solex carb with regulator - to me it seems like crazy thing, but he don't want to give up from this rather strange blow-through setup. Front mounted IC isn't very nice placed but it serves for purpose.

I tried to talk with owner couple times but he didn't want to give up from carb setup - he even didn't retarded ignition under boost - you'll see result in next few pics...

Car has been on some streetraces and has cca. 16 sec on 1/4 mile.

Prpa is much more serious and careful when it comes to visual tuning of his Yugo - this are 195/50/15" Toyo tires with nice alloy wheels - that is not very often found on such cheap car as Yugo.

Front and rear fenders are flared in body shop a'la "Integrale" style, even fiberglass hood has "Integrale" style scoop - very nice.

This Yugo is "Integrale wannabe" ? Maybe, I'm not really sure.

But his owner is deffinitely old-school "Carb is my God" kind of guy.

What did I said that Prpa didn't retarded ignition under boost?

This are the results-broken piston ring lands - classic case of detonation.

Same story, different piston. Pitty for the pistons, not for the owner.

And this is my favourite street sleeper - completely flat black Yugo - sort of Stealth bomber ;-)

I don't know for you, but to me Yugo really looks nice with that colour - little strange but good. This are simple but nice steel rims from BMW with negative offset -looks nice on Yugo.

Better view for rims - note that the owner pulled out rear arches pretty much same as I did.

This is is famous Akrapovic motorcycle muffler - it's pierced badly and unrepairable but I just wanted to say that muffler is incredibly light !

Man, when I lifted up this muffler with two fingers I said:"Wow, this titanium stuff is really fuckin' great material - must have one of these for my project!"

P.S.

Weight is somewhere around 2kg , I'm not really sure so don't take this for granted.

Yugo from the rear - Secret Squirel on a mission :-)

This are two ordinary garage cats - aka Catus Garageus - no really, they actually live in garage - not mine though.

And this is pic that makes Marin drooling around everytime he see it thinking how his project would look mean with such goodies - Michelin racing slicks - no grooves here !

It comes from some prototype car or maybe Formula 3000 and tire on the left is some std anonymous 155mm tire placed side by side just to get the size of that slick - twice the width - now that's what I call traction !

P.S.

"Competition use only"- that's written on sidewall, but I think few times we could get out on the street - could we Mr. Officer ?

Honda - always in a heart of decent Fiat tuner.

Very nice project of restorating and modifying Zastava 750 aka "Fico" - car that's based on old Fiat 600 chassis and was (and still is) very popular around here.

Owner is very skillful and has patience - he is doing this for couple of years and soon will order race prepared 1000 engine from some Italian tuner - keep the good work going !
